Monday Drawing Jam
Monday Drawing Jam is an ongoing, live-drawing event by and of seven artists from around the globe. Since April 2020, when Covid ended most in-person connections, we have gathered on zoom every Monday to pose and draw. We drew images from life under the confines of quarantine, the time limits of zoom, and the restricted format of computer screens. These limitations challenged the traditional portrait-making format and pushed us to create a new, resilient type of art. Our resulting body of work consists of almost 1,500 portraits that reflect the relief, joy, and despair we shared.
